These are transcripts of a column I recently wrote for Bass Guitar Magazine. Each one examines a different aspect of funky bass playing and includes a specially devised piece of music which hopefully illustrates my point. There are links to recordings of the music, one with and one without the bass line so you can jam along, detailed transcriptions of each section of the tune and is liberally peppered with my mildly opinionated views about bass playing, tunes and music in general.
