Dear fellow (funk)bassplayers!

Searching for Charts?
Here is a small selection of bass charts that I’ve transcribed over the years. I just want to share these with the world-wide bass community and consequently improve them. These charts were on my old website and many people have helpfully corrected a few for me over the years. Maybe, one day, we can come up with definite transcriptions of classic (funk) bass lines, although I know from experience that there is always a ‘grey’ area, but I think we can get pretty close.
Please send me your comments, thoughts, correct credits, corrections as you see fit in the ‘speak your mind’ box below the table. Also check out the new and improved search facility – you can now re-order this list by artist or bassist as well as by track title.
Needless to say – all the transcriptions are for educational and home use only and shall not be used in any commercial manner whatsoever.

Hey great transcriptions!! I just got Bass Guitar Mag. issue 69. I’ve looked all over your web page and can’t seem to find the transcription for “Galactish”. Could you possibly email it to me?? Pleease.
Thanks so much,

all the bass, stefan
Hey Stefan. Great work! I am a beginner bass player and I just love the content of your site.
I’d love to download the transcription of Living in America by James Brown but when I click on the link I get an error.
Is the file missing?
Take care.
Stratos
Hi Stratos,
the link was playing up – I’ve repaired it now so you should now be able to download Mr Brown’s Living in America
hey Stefan,
thank you so much for your transcriptions , great job !!
HI Stefan,
Nice work on these transcriptions.
You saved me many hours on some of these that I have to learn for one of my new projects. Several of them I have already transcribed for myself and I found a few of variations, between our versions.
Once the dust settles on learning about 40 new tunes, I will tune in to the differences and submit to you possible corrections. Unless all the corrections are on my end.
Thanks much.
Rudi Weeks
I thought I’d let you know that one of my favorite charts that you did was Michael MacDonald’s “I Keep Forgetting”. Super feel and the bass player hits it right in the pocket.
Bravo! Thanks!
